








































In March of 2024 I headed West to Joshua Tree National Park, which is a 3 hour + drive from Las Vegas. The park includes parts of two deserts, each an ecosystem whose characteristics are determined primarily by elevation: the higher Mojave Desert and the lower Colorado Desert. As distinctive of the two deserts, was the beauty of the desert from day to night. The daytime, with its’ endless horizons of desert landscapes of stone, flowers and the majestic Joshua Tree. As the sun sets, the landscape darkens and the night sky comes alive. One of my objectives in traveling early Spring was to be able to photography the Milky Way as a panorama across the horizon. By late September/October, the Milky Way will be almost perpendicular to the horizon
